Welcome to the Benjamin Mkapa Hospital (BMH) website.
We are at the fore front of modern medical care from the day we were set by the Government of The United Republic of Tanzania on October 13th 2015 to provide quality health services. The BMH is a public tertiary, referral and training University institution with a purpose of addressing the need for advanced, specialized healthcare services in Tanzania and Africa, to be provided through acquisition of high-tech, ultramodern diagnostic equipment, skilled staff and advanced treatment. The institution is in Dodoma, and it is the main government Hospital in the capital city serving a catchment population of about 14 million people. The Hospital is under the Ministry of Health and works closely in collaboration with the University of Dodoma. The BMH also has extensive linkages with other institutions in Africa, Europe, Middle East, Asia and America.
We provide quality specialized and super-specialized health services, which were mostly not offered in the country by using modern sciences. The BMH owns state of art equipment such as Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.
On top of normal specialized services, we offer comprehensive treatments of Kidney related diseases and Kidney Transplant, Born Marrow transplant and Hematology, Penile Transplantation, Cardiology and Open-heart surgery, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics and Traumatology, Oncology, Radiotherapy, Nuclear Medicine, Laparoscopic and Endoscopic procedures.
Apart from clinical care, we do provide University medical training, conduct research and offer consultancy. The BMH also provides medical tourism to patients from various African countries.
